Gas (fees)
In short
Gas is the fee for computation on Ethereum and similar networks. Every transaction costs gas — the busier the network, the more expensive it gets.
Gas protects the network from spam and pays validators. At peak times simple actions can cost double-digit euros; layer-2 networks cut this drastically.
Why is my transaction "stuck"?
Usually the gas price was set too low — the network serves higher-paying transactions first.
