KYC
In short
KYC ("Know Your Customer") is identity verification at financial services: ID document, proof of address, sometimes a selfie. Regulated crypto exchanges are legally required to do it.
KYC protects against money laundering but also means your purchases are tied to your name. Reputable providers are transparent about what data they store.
Can I buy crypto without KYC?
Not at regulated exchanges. Non-KYC routes exist but carry legal and practical risks.
