Volatility measures how strongly a price swings. Crypto is among the most volatile asset classes: 5-10% daily moves are normal, 50%+ crashes happen every cycle.
Volatility is risk AND raw material: without swings, no trading profit. What matters is sizing positions to the swing range instead of ignoring it.
When is crypto most volatile?
Around key macro events (Fed, CPI), during liquidation cascades and in illiquid weekend/overnight hours.
