Trading volume
In short
Trading volume is the total value of all trades in a period. High real volume means you can get in and out without moving the price.
Beware: volume reported by small exchanges is often inflated (wash trading). Large regulated venues and cleaned aggregate data are more reliable.
Why does volume matter more than price alone?
Price moves without volume are fragile — volume shows real capital carrying the move.
