Blockchain
In short
A blockchain is a digital ledger stored on many computers at once. New entries are bundled into blocks and cryptographically chained to previous ones — tampering with history is immediately visible.
Because each block contains the fingerprint of the one before it, history cannot be rewritten unnoticed. That replaces trust in a central party with verifiable math.
Is blockchain the same as Bitcoin?
No. Bitcoin uses a blockchain — the underlying technology powers many other networks too.
