Clipboard hijacker

In short

A clipboard hijacker is malware that monitors your clipboard and secretly swaps a copied crypto address for the attacker's address. When you paste, you unknowingly send to the thief.

The malware exploits the fact that no one manually compares long addresses. Defense: always re-check the full address after pasting, keep the device clean, and send a test transaction first for large amounts.

How do I notice my clipboard was tampered with?

The pasted address differs from the copied one. Only a full comparison — not just start and end — reveals it.
