Social engineering

In short

Social engineering is manipulation instead of technology: the attacker uses trust, fear, greed or time pressure to get you to act — such as sending money or handing over keys. It is the shared core of almost every crypto scam.

No hacking tool is as effective as a convincing story. Whether fake support, romance fraud or an "urgent" problem, the goal is always to switch off your critical thinking. The remedy: slow down and verify independently.

Why does social engineering work so well?

Because it exploits human reflexes, not technical flaws. Emotional pressure makes us bypass rules we would never break when calm.
